"V" is for.....

Jenny Matlock

Some people place VALUE on what a person does
or they place it on what a person's worth
In times of yore it was placed not on the skinny
but upon those of us with some girth.

I myself find it all silly to VALUE
on someone only for what they do
I choose instead to place my VALUE
on other things and look at life anew

Someone need not be rich
 to give out sage advice
and just because you are rich
doesn't mean that you are nice

Placing VALUE on someone
purely for reasons monetarily
seems to me to be backwards
and quite a bit contrary

For a person's VALUE should
be measured through their heart
For if not for compassion
this world would tear apart.

"I would rather take advice from a penniless prophet, then an enriched fool."

"U" is for.....

Jenny Matlock

United States??- Terry Krueger 4/11/12

The following is something that’s been running through the old noggin for awhile now.
Instead of the pithy somewhat witty little poem from a somewhat talented writer, this write is about something near and dear to my heart, the United States of America. Now I know some people will not agree with me and some may praise me as a new profit, but seriously these are just my humble opinions on the state and future of this country. Before anyone thinks that I’m all political and want to open up a discussion involving such, I’m not. I am a patriot who has served this nation’s military, worked hard and has seen a steady decline in the “American dream” I grew up with.

That being said, here is the list of things I believe need to change to get back to the United States.

1)      People need to get over the bi-partism and realize we all are in this together. Whether you voted for the current administration or not, they were elected by a majority vote. The whole attitude of “He’s not my president” needs to go, he won he is. You may not have voted for him but he won now be a patriot and support our elected leader(s).
2)      Get over the “he did this” or “they did that” There is 545 people who have a hand in our government policy, not counting their staffs, counselors, and various lobbiest groups. So no one does anything without anyone else. It’s a fact simple as that, get over it.
3)      We need to restructure the way some of those policies are handled to insure less cost or no cost at all. The foreign policy alone is screwed, we are not the world police, we have our own issues that need to be fixed before we help out the rest of the world. For example our welfare system as it stands allows people to receive benefits from more then one state, why can’t we have a national system? Think of how much that would save alone. Why do we give aid to countries who do nothing for us? We need to collect on debt that’s owed this country and take care of any monetary debt owed other nations. We need to find new forms of fuel so as not be dependant on other nations. Between Alaska and Texas we produce plenty of oil, add in North Dakota and we have even more. Alas the reality is oil is a fossil fuel which will eventually run out, so we need to find alternatives, period.
4)      We need to bring back “American” companies to America. Our auto industry alone is mostly produced overseas, while we make Toyotas for Japan? Sounds wrong to me and easily fixed. Give them the tax breaks they need to come home, let our economy grow strong again, buy American made. We were once a super power and the promised land, we need to get back to being so.
5)      We need to stop saying the illegals take all the jobs from hard working Americans, if we were hard working we would be willing to do those jobs. We’re not they are. They take jobs for little money, we don’t. Also we need to stop hiring them- simple as that.
Now those are just the top 5 of many changes we as a nation need to make in my opinion. Again I’m no politician-thank god, and just knowledgable to be dangerous, so take it or leave it. I am a proud American who hates to see his country going downhill. I know one person cant change the country, but I seriously hope someone does.

"T" is for......

                                                              Jenny Matlock
Tenacity is all I see
every time I look at thee
for it takes all of you to be
the one who puts up with me.

I know it doesn't come easily
to be in love with someone like me
but I give my heart up easily
for in you love is all i see.

"S" is for.....

Jenny Matlock

SOME people are content to be part of the herd
to be yet another SIMPLE SHEEP
While others prefer to be the leader
and make more noise then tiny peeps.

To be a part of the flow is fine for SOME it SEEMS
But life is for the living, this I wholeheartedly believe.
To rise above the normal black and white SIMPLICITY
To raise my voice so loud that all can hear and plainly see me.

I want the people to know I was here SO long after I am gone
That they all remember my beliefs held SO dear and for SO long
That everyone is equal whether SHEPARD or the SHEEP
and this is our world to SHARE and for everyone to keep.

SO I pray that everybody SHARES in the world as it SLOWLY grows
Where the the future takes us heaven only knows.
I'll live my life as a leader an example to the flock
and never underestimate it but in it take stock

That there are people in the world content to be
yet another SIMPLE SHEEP
and others that are born to lead
and make more noise than just a peep.

"R" is for....

Jenny Matlock
Getting "older" I think of people before I think of me
I think of loved ones, friends and most of all family
No longer night's of parties and days carefree
I'm a grown ass man with RESPONSIBILITIES.

My three sons mean this entire world to me
so glad God gave that second chance to see
those boys becoming better men than me
I thank him everyday for that, and what it means.

RESPONSIBILITY is more than just another word to me
It's been passed through generations down my family tree
It means to stand up for your country and your beliefs
and to fight for that country if that is what it needs.

I am proud of all my friends, loved ones, and family
for being there to support each other through the tragedies
Not running from but facing head on what comes naturally
all of this defines RESPONSIBILITY to me.

"Q" is for...

Jenny Matlock
So we've come once again to the letter "Q"
the QUINTESSENTIAL scrabble letter it's true it's true
It's QUIRKY, QUIET, cute, and QUAINT
So hard to use it may make you faint
So be wise while playing and hoard those "U"'s
for without hard pressed for words with "Q"'s
Remember my friends to keep your aim true
to win the game with the QUIRKY "Q"

"P" is for....

Jenny Matlock

For this PARTICULAR POST I will PURSUE a different PURPOSE
then PUTTING PHRASE into PARAGRAPH or my usual PROSE.
I would like to PRAISE the man who made me, the man who
PRODUCED in me, the way I am today. My father, my PATERNAL influence,
My PADRE, my.....POPS.
Now when he was younger man he was a true PATRIOT
he joined the military of his own mind and never let us forget.
He served his country valliantly in a sad forgotten war
and fought for god, country and family to protect our very shore.
He came home to a nation, not proud of what it"s done
a returning warrior, a mother's oldest PRODIGAL son.
PATRIOTISM runs deep to this day in my Father's veins
and the soul and heart of a warrior inside him still remains.
He PROTECTED and worked for his country his God and family
he raised us with real values,my brother, sister and me.
I am PROUD to be the son of PARENTS who believe in loyalty
to have my family's warrior blood coursing straight through me.
I thank God everyday for everything and for all they gave
For blessing me with a real father and for the life's he saved.
That's my POPS in a nutshell, he might seem simple or quite PLAIN
but the PRIDE in me started early and today it still remains.

"O" is for.....

Jenny Matlock

As the year continues into seasons colder
I find myself reflecting on being a decade OLDER
Has the first forty years made me tame or bolder
Did God give me all the weight I could shoulder

OLDER and wiser the saying goes they say
So I've grown to live my life day by day
While the first two decades I lived to play
these last two have made me the man today

As I grow OLDER the past becomes reflected
Were decisions made right and how my life's affected
Do I feel elated or feel alone and dejected
Have I done enough to leave a stamp detected

Well these last forty years have made me OLDER
I find myself not tame but bolder
In beliefs held dear I am proud to shoulder
As the year continues to seasons colder.

"N" is for...

Jenny Matlock

NOW that fat tuesday's gone and begins the season of lent
I can think of NOTHING that i'd give up or want to forget
I have lived my life as I did with voluminous lament
But who can say they have lived life without regret?

What I have done and I have been through
Has lead my on a crooked path straight back to you.
NOTHING in my life has ever came with ease
from birth until NOW fighting from on my knees.

I thank you God for all that I have been through
From the military to the monster to things anew
I am thankful for the life you've gave to me
From parents to three sons to Melanie.

Without my past there would be NO NOW
So why would I regret the way or how
I got to where I am in my life today
If something wasn't done then who's to say?

I thank you lord for all you have done
for NOT just me but for everyone
For keeping a watchful eye from high above
I know that it all was done with love.

So again I say this for lent and regrets
I give good wishes to all who want to forget
For there is NOTHING in my life I want to give away
for my choices are what made me the man I am today.

"M" is for.....

Jenny Matlock

My girlfriend is extraordinary to me
Especially the world and how it she sees
Loving her completely comes to me so easily
Absolutely honestly overwhelmingly
Never compromising herself or asking it of me
I adore her for her quirks and little bits of insanity
Exactly the perfect beautiful MELANIE!!

"L" is for...

Jenny Matlock

As we continue on our mutual quest
to match word to letter that fits best.
A word we used to hold dear in years past
has finally come to my mind at last.

A word that once was reserved for royalty
I speak of course of the word LOYALTY.
It may mean to some of us the same
but to most tis only a word and concept lame.

Oh how I worry how times have changed
from when LOYALTY held firm when once engaged.
To now it is only used looking into one's face
well behind one's back deceit is replaced.

It all saddens heart to see the growth of our disgrace
to talk behind back of friends we call to their face.
I fear in whole for the future of the human race
for values once held dear are now erased.

Perhaps by chance my older eyes do not quite see
that there are still among us who believe in LOYALTY.
It's concept can not die if inside of you and me
LOYALTY to God, country, and Family.

"K" is for....

Jenny Matlock

In our crazy Kaleidoscope life and monkey cage of house and home
Where there is always some sort of drama and you never find yourself alone.
There is a force to be reckoned with, but never taken lightly
I speak of course of the one and only, Karma the almighty.

At times she will drive you mad, to the edge of inner rage
other times you can control her, like a whirlwind in a cage.
At times she's just too funny, to simply just ignore
and other times she's so cute, and easy to adore.

Karma has more then once has bit me, I believe only by mistake
and she has always been quick to grab whatever she can take.
For like the force she was named after, it's simple for her mood to switch
for she's only a two year old puppy who can be good,or quite the little........

"J" is for.....

Jenny Matlock

We all want a world full of truth and JUST
We all believe in one because we must
like the sky is blue and in God we trust

The world is full of lies, deceipt, and lust
So we who believe must stand for one that's JUST
and teach our children right from wrong
to keep our beliefs both true and strong.

We can't wait for others help it is JUST us
to show the next generation what could be glorious
A world full of love and truth and things that are JUST
a world that I believe can happen because of us.

"I" is for....

Jenny Matlock

My current medical condition has at times led to desperation
For I fear that i may have lost all of my life's INSPIRATION
Then I look at a child's pure and wild jubilation
then it returns with passion and invigoration

I get INSPIRED now by life's simplest things
like a bird's whistle or a church bell's booming rings
Some days it's hard for me to remember everything
Because my INSPIRATION drives me to other things

My INSPIRATION leads my minds imagination
to write or draw some new creation
Only my mind knows the confusing combination
that makes something an INSPIRATION.

I know that I have God to thank for all my INSPIRATION
for he created the world, the people and i am his creation
without him I would not have any thoughts or imagination
So thank you lord for surrounding me with all this INSPIRATION.

p.s. well i am currently between tattoo shops I have been writing two books. As some of you may know one is a book about vampires, the other is about twins separated at birth when their mother dies during delivery. My beautiful girlfriend bought me software that will type out the scribblings of both books. So as i have already shown you an excerpt from the vampire book. I was wondering if there is any interest in reading a portion of the other one? Please respond yea or nay if you feel the need to comment on poem above-thank you all Terry

"H" is for......

Jenny Matlock

                                                       Haters, haters, often impersonators
realizing they'll never be the one and only greatest
The one who giveth and the one that taketh
The one true God I won't forsaketh.

The only one who sees through to the real you and the real me
The one who hands out his wrath as well as his charity
I will not forsake him for he has never forsaken me
allowing me to live until at last I finally see.

That the greatest is only he
not the haters who try to be
the chosen ones like you and me
and give all to him, and happily

The haters will never really be free
feeling guilty constantly
For in their hearts they cannot see
He's the God to all humanity.

                                                      Haters, haters, often impersonators
realizing they'll never be the one and only greatest
The one who giveth and the one that taketh
The one true God I won't forsaketh.

Please forgive me ,but I used to write lyrics to beats all the time and now I deconstruct them into rhyme. As my birthday slowly approaches, so does the fear of getting older. So for now I will continue to soldier, on the path that was foretold here. thanks- Terry

"G" is for......

Jenny Matlock

I never thought of Growing older
I'm invincible and everything I can shoulder
Little did I know it happens to everybody
including you and even invincible me.

Waking up everyday with aches and pains
and each morning they're never the same
from my head all the way down to my toes
everyday which part will hurt no one knows.

I actually say thank you to God that i am still Growing older
for the years have taught me that I don't need to put it all my shoulders
I've learned to relax and enjoy life's simple things
like children's laughter or when a songbird sings

I'm no longer afraid of Growing old
as long as they get it right when my story's told
I will live as long as the lord will allow me too
and pass down what I've learned and all I knew.
